SAFETY
FOR YOUR PEACE OF MIND
Large accumulation of combustible waste represents a potentially serious fire hazard.
During a fire, garbage chutes provide a pathway for flames and smoke to travel through a building.
When SAFETY
is a PRIORITY
YOUR SELECTION
of the proper fire rated discharge doors and fire rated intake hoppers
plays a vital role in keeping people safe and minimising property damage during a fire.
We provide ALL essential and vital chute parts for absolute user safety
as a STANDARD provision in our chutes
SAFETY PROVISIONS
01
INTAKE HOPPER DOORS
Certified by CSIRO, our Intake Hopper Doors are 120 minutes fire rated as per AS1530.4-2005.
If the exposed face is 1000°, the unexposed side of the door leaf is 121°. The door of the hopper remains tightly shut, not allowing the passage of the flame.
02
DISCHARGE END FIRE DOORS
Built to an exceptionally high standard of precision and safety, our Discharge End Fire Door gives a vital 2 hour fire protection from fire in the Garbage Room.
Operation is by 2 powerful springs pulling against a 68ºC fusible link.
In the event of a fire the fusible link breaks and the springs pull the shutter door across the chute, preventing fire from travelling up the chute into the building.
03
AUTOMATIC FIRE SPRINKLERS
Fire Sprinklers are installed at alternate levels and at the head of the chute.
When temperatures reach 68°, the sprinklers open to extinguish fires.
Accessible through the intake hopper doors for inspection and service.
Fire INSIDE chute
Fire OUTSIDE chute on floor
DISCHARGE END FIRE DOORS
Built to an exceptionally high standard of precision and safety,
our Discharge End Fire Door gives a vital 2 hour fire protection from fire in the Garbage Room.
Discharge Door ‘C’ Type
Our ‘C’ Type Discharge Door is widely used in both Garbage & Linen Chutes. It is a horizontal rolling door, mounted on bearings on each side and connected to a fusible link.
In case of a fire in the Garbage Room, the fusible link melts at 68°C and gravity makes the fire door roll shut. This closes the upward path of the chute, protecting the structure and occupants. The discharge is 2 hours.
Discharge Door ‘D’ Type
Our ‘D’ Type Discharge Door is widely used in wall-mounted Linen Chute applications. As with other discharge doors, it restricts the transfer of heat to the chute when the fusible link melts in the event of a fire.
The hopper type, self-closing, top hinged, hopper door is held open by a counter balance assembly with a 68°C fusible link.
In case of fire in the Garbage Room, the door drops shut and is held closed by two retaining catches. This door also provides a discharge of 2 hours.
